CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

I first read this little ditty when I was at school, and it still sits with me in a far flung corner of my brain and is apt to the topsy turvy world we live in. It goes as follows:

Twas in the month of Liverpool
In the city of July
The rain was shining hazily
The Streets were very dry
The flowers were singing cherrfully
The Birds were in full bloom
I went down the cellar
To sweep the upstairs room!
